About Educational Support

All schools have been closed in Ethiopia, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ministry of Education has implemented a program to provide education through radio and television broadcasts. But most of the families in our Hope 4others program do not have a radio or television in their home.

Therefore, we would like to provide a small solar-powered radio to each of our 234 beneficiary children so that they can access the lessons delivered by the government. The radios will also allow each family to receive regular updates and training related to COVID-19 transmitted by the Ministry of Health.

Since the government has halted the distribution of any hard copies of lesson material, our tutorial staff will also provide recorded tutorial lessons and moral and ethical education via USB, which can be accessed using the radios. Every 14 days, children will receive an oral exam based on the tutorial lessons and new material will be loaded onto the USB.
